Dear Girls on the Run Participants:
Congratulations on a job well done! This great event had over
3,000 finishers and everyone should be proud of their
accomplishments.
It is our regret that there is a delay with the posting of the
final results. Inadvertently, some finish times were left off
of the listings. The issue has been resolved and updated
results have been posted. We regret any inconvenience.
If your time is not listed, please contact our head timer,
Phil Quinn, at phil@charmcityrun.com. Please forward your
name, bib number, school affiliation, and estimated finish
time. If you have any other questions, please feel free to
contact me directly at the number listed below. Our
organization is responsible for the timing of the event
therefore it is best to contact us directly rather than Girls
on the Run.

Race Photography:
Dan Hicok will be on hand to capture the action at the
Reindeer Romp. Dan is thrilled to be back for a third
consecutive GOTR event. This time, because of the amazing
growth of the event and to provide the highest quality
photography, Dan has teamed up with Will Ramos and Brian
Knight of
Will Ramos Photography. With three photographers, we will
get much better coverage of the event. We hope to catch you in

RACE PACKET PICK UP/REGISTRATION:
Race packet pick-up will be at Reston Town Center on
Thursday, December 6 from 4pm-8pm and Friday December 7
from 12pm-8pm at 11911 Freedom Dr
(next to Wachovia Bank).
Registration for the race is available at Packet Pick-up.
Race day and packet
pick-up is at Reston Town Center from 7:00-7:45 am. All
registered runners will receive a long-sleeve t-shirt* and
timing chip. There is NO discount for using your own
champion chip.

What is Chip
Timing?
All
registered runners will receive a small, black, plastic "chip"
that will need to be attached to the runner's ankle or shoe and worn through the duration of the race.
There is a small computer chip located in each of these chips,
which will record the exact time (as the racer runs across a
timing mat) the runner crossed both the start and finish line,
providing a more accurate race finish time.
What do I do with the chip after the race?
Once
runners have crossed the finish line, they will be directed
into a coral where they will be assisted in removing the chip
from their ankle. DO NOT LEAVE THE RACE GROUNDS WITH
THE TIMING CHIP. If you are outside of the
chip-removal area and realize you still have your chip, please
do NOT give it to any volunteer. Please go back to the
chip-removal coral and place the chip in one of the available
buckets. If you find a chip after the race is over,
please contact us immediately and mail it to the office.
All chips MUST be received by our office by December 21.
What happens if I don't return the chip?
Each chip
we do not return to the timing company costs us $65 per chip.
If your chip has not been returned to GOTR by Dec 21, you will
need to pay the $65.
AWARDS & PRIZES:
Age group medals for
males and females will be given to the top 5 finishers in the
following groups: 6 & under; 7-8; 9-10; 11-12; 13-14
Age group awards for males and females will be given to the
top 3 finishers in the following groups: 15-19; 20-29; 30-39;
40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70+.
All participants are eligible for random prize drawing.

8:30am
Random
prizes and awards ceremony immediately follows the event.
SPECIAL NOTE: All proceeds of this race
will support Girls on the Run of Northern Virginia.

exit 12 (Reston Parkway)/VA-602. Stay right at fork onto
VA-602 North. Make U-turn on Reston Parkway, and take a right

Parking: Plenty of parking
is available at the Reston Town Center.
WITHOUT EXCEPTION, NO BABY JOGGERS, HEADSETS, IN-LINE SKATES,
BICYCLES, OR PETS ARE ALLOWED ON THE 5K COURSE.
